Glenforest runner wins silver

Jana Walkowski of Glenforest Secondary School was less than a second shy of winning gold at the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations (OFSAA) cross country championships in Ottawa yesterday.
Walkowski captured the silver medal in the midget girls race, finishing with a time of 11 minutes and 55.3 seconds. She was neck and neck with gold medalist Chardae Henry of McLaughlin Collegiate in Oshawa, who was 0.6 seconds faster. MacKenzie Mayers of Sir Frederick Banting in London finished third.
